Ann Randolph + Karin Gutman

A perfect retreat for those seeking to go beyond the superficial and connect deeply to your personal power and voice as a writer and storyteller.

Designed for anyone who has ever wanted to expand their range, write a memoir, speak their truth, let go of an old story, do a TED Talk, create a solo performance, play big, find their own voice and unlock the story that needs to be told.

In life, as in writing, one must go to the depths of a feeling or experience in order to know it thoroughly and discover what matters to you. Diving deep and being willing to stand in the intensity can allow a new self, a new voice to emerge.

Ann Randolph & Karin Gutman create a sacred environment that awakens and emboldens the creative force within you, offering a safe space to explore your story and inhabit it fully. You will be completely supported in the process through writing and embodied expression. In this intimate, immersive setting, your creative flow will be unlocked as you move through and beyond the edges of your Self and your story.

Kauai Retreats invites you to experience the transformation that comes from being surrounded by others who believe your story matters. It is a supportive, fun, and dynamic space in which to create as we embrace the Hawaiian spirit of 'Ohana' and 'Aloha'.

TRAVEL TIPS:

Airport transfer by shuttle, Uber, and Taxi service are all available on Kauai, however it is a small island with service that can be intermittent and must be planned in advance.

There are many rental car companies available on the island. Car rental is highly encouraged so you can explore and enjoy your stay with maximum freedom to see the island on your own time; but it is not necessary or a requirement.

Private airport pick-up and drop-off transfers can be arranged for an additional fee if you will not be renting a personal car and do not wish to reserve a public shuttle or Uber, or if these services are not available at the time of your flight arrival/departure.

All additional information and contacts will be provided in the Kauai Resource Sheet sent via email once we receive your online registration.

ACCOMMODATION TIPS:

Please be assured there are a range of accommodations ranging from tent sites to condos, cottages, and 5-star hotels.

Rent a House through AirBnB or VRBO.  Ann and many of her students have stayed in numerous rooms and houses throughout the North Shore area using these sites.  We have compiled a list of local spots and hosts with whom we have personal experience and connection that we can email you once we receive your online registration.  As well, our on-island Destination Manager can look into any site you find and are interested in renting that is not already on our personal list.

**Often two or more students rent a condo or larger home to share as a way to lessen costs while enjoying the benefits of a bigger space and amenities of a home. We encourage you to gather together a group of friends for the retreat and share a beautiful island house, OR you are welcome to register for just yourself and we can connect you with others also looking to share.  Just send us an email that you would like to be connected with other retreat participants similarly interested in a shared rental and we can make the introductions for you. We always have great success in connecting retreat participants who enjoy sharing a home rental that becomes their "retreat house" for the week - a space where they can continue the discussions, respect for writing, and generally maintain the flow of energy created during the retreat workshops.

Hotels & Hostels can be found all over the island and are a viable option whether you are looking for a luxurious vacation or spa-like stay, or are opting for a more budget solo vacation. Listed below are hotels with which we have personal experience and are located here on the North Shore nearest to the retreat workshops. If you are curious about accommodations located in other towns around the island, you would be particularly encouraged to rent a car, and simply ask us for advice before making any non-refundable reservations.
